What is a Power LED?
What are the Advantages of Power LEDs?
All LED light sources that are produced to meet high light needs for lighting and used in LED high bay systems, consuming 0.5 W or more electricity, are called power LEDs. When used as LED indicator lights, they are generally produced as 20 mA. When calculated in terms of power consumption, white LEDs consume around 0.065 W. However, we know that the power requirements for lighting fixtures are high. This means that a large number of low-power LEDs must be used. Using more LEDs increases total costs and labor. Instead, powerful LEDs have become indispensable in lighting systems and commercial lighting systems for lumen packages. Manufacturers observing this market trend also offer LEDs with different structures to the market in line with their customers' needs. Thanks to their quality thermally designed structures, they dissipate heat easily, offering long life, higher efficiency, and more lumens. The ability to direct light emanating from a single point effectively through optical systems is among the most important conveniences. Reliability, durability, size, and robustness are among the other advantages in LED high bay systems.
What are the Disadvantages of Power LEDs?
In LED high bay systems, their efficiency may be lower compared to low-power LEDs due to their high power consumption. The cost of LEDs for the same amount of power is high, but the cost is balanced when considering the surrounding components.
