What is Cellophane Used in Printing?
What is Embossing and What Does It Do?
Cellophane is a lamination method applied to the top surfaces of all products that have undergone printing and are ready for use, to protect them from external factors. In these systems used in printing houses, it serves with a thin, bag-like structure. In addition to protecting them from all external factors, it also adds elegance to the products. These systems are generally of two types: matte cellophane and glossy cellophane. On the other hand, it should be known that generally, glossy cellophane models are preferred and used today. It is used for embossing in printing systems. These clichés used for embossing are also called female and male. One is raised and the other is low. In the printing houses, these embossed areas are referred to as male where they are raised and female where they are low. The male cliché is found in the printing cylinders, and the female clichés are located in the die cylinders. The papers to be printed are placed between these two types of clichés. The male cliché embosses the papers by pressing against the female clichés, providing the most effective embossing.
